Revised Amis du Festival and Festival Passes Announced

Lafayette, LA – Festival International de Louisiane is proud to announce a revised Festival Pass program and the re-introduction of Amis du Festival! After 2015’s pilot year for the Festival Pass program, the organization has tweaked and simplified the options for pass holders. In addition, the organization revised the Amis du Festival program to show more gratitude to Festival supporters. The reworked Festival Pass program and Amis du Festival was announced at Saturday’s fundraiser, La Fête du Festival.

“Over the past few months, we’ve reached out to past Festival supporters. We need and value our community support,” says Scott Feehan, President of the Board of Directors. “We’re doing everything we can to reconnect with the community.”

Festival supporters have been anticipating the revamped Amis du Festival program for 2016. One of the main highlights is the FIRST EDITION of Live from Festival International de Louisiane 2015 – a live compilation audio CD featuring performances from 2015 Festival.  This is the first time that Festival has produced a CD of this nature and is thrilled to share this with donors.

“We’re looking forward to this event and are grateful for Helmer Directional Drilling for their continued support throughout the years. We had a great turn out last year, and are hoping for a successful second year with this fundraiser,” says Scott Feehan, President of the Board of Festival International.

“We are excited to be celebrating our 30th year of Festival and keeping it accessible for everyone to enjoy. Three local music institutions partner for community support

Lafayette, LA – Festival International de Louisiane, Festivals Acadiens et Creoles, and Downtown Alive! Have partnered to create a music triangle of support.

The three organizations have provided free music celebrations for over 100 years, collectively.

“Music is the heartbeat of any culture. But in Acadiana, that heart beats so loudly because of our free music culture that allows anyone and everyone to see world-class live music without paying admission. Supporting this free music culture is so important to keep the music playing, for free. We wanted to make it easier for anyone who loves our free music festivals to give and be rewarded for their love,” said Kate Durio, Director of Marketing & Events, Downtown Lafayette.

Funding for each music event comes from various resources such as sponsorships, grants, donations and beverage sales. Supporters who would like to donate to Festivals Acadiens et Creoles, Downtown Alive and Festival International de Louisiane, can now do so with one monetary donation through the website Continue reading
