|Festival International Announces First Ever Carnaval du Festival Event to Celebrate the 2020 Lineup, Pin & Poster|
Lafayette, LA – For the first time ever, Festival International proudly presents its lineup, pin and poster reveals in one festive evening. Festival invites guests to Le Carnaval du Festival on Feb. 8, during Artwalk, at the Jefferson Street Pub from 6:30 – 11:30 p.m.
Le Carnaval du Festival is a celebration of the 2020 Festival International Lineup, Pin & Poster. The theme of this unique event will fuse Louisiana and Haiti’s Carnaval cultures to set the international mood. Haitian band, Lakou Mizik, will perform after Artwalk and keep the good times rolling. Lakou Mizik was a fan-favorite last time they performed during Festival International.
“This year,” said Festival’s Marketing Director Carly Viator, “we wanted to create a Festival extravaganza to reveal the 2020 artwork and music lineup. In the spirit of carnival season, ‘Le Carnaval du Festival’ will encompass the cultural diversity that comes along with these celebrations. Guests will have the chance to meet this year’s visual artist, Tommy Hughes, and to experience an incredible band from Haiti — all in one night.”
Meet-and-greet with 2020 Official Visual Artist, Tommy Hughes, snag limited-edition merchandise and be the first to view this year’s lineup during a live-screening of the video. Pins, posters and limited-edition signed posters will be available for purchase. Purchasing pin and poster artwork shows your support for Festival and commemorates the uniqueness of each Festival season.
The original artwork, standing nearly six-feet tall, will be up for auction. There will also be a limited run of Festival skateboards for sale with vibrant elements from the 2020 poster on them.
The event is free and open to the public from 6:30 – 8:15 p.m., and it is suggested that guests arrive at 6:30 to witness the reveals. Following Artwalk, admission of $10 will be charged at the door for live music by Lakou Mizik. Jefferson Street Pub is located at 500 Jefferson Street in Downtown Lafayette.
